Fall Internship

Internships at STAR Services provide students with resume-building experiences. In our summer internship program, you will be paired with a mentor who will help you achieve your educational and career goals. You will work in a variety of settings, such as day and residential programs, providing services to persons with disabilities.

You will gain skills in leadership, creativity, problem-solving, team work, and communication, all while helping to make a difference in the lives of others. You will be involved in exciting, rewarding, and challenging work each day.

You will receive orientation training and continuing education on topics such as Person-Centered Thinking, mental health, trends in the field, medication administration, CPR/First Aid, rules and regulations, positive supports, and more.

Preferred applicants will be currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, one of the following programs: 
Education, Healthcare Management, Human Services, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Pre-Med, Psychology, Public Health, Social Work, Sociology, and others with approval. 

Location: Metro Area
Hours: Minimum of 30 hours per week
Time Frame: Internship begins on September 17, 2018 and will last approximately 11 weeks
Compensation: Paid Internship - $14.00/hr
